An injection-molded plastic kit of the American fighter Republic P-47D-28RE Thunderbolt in 1:48 scale from MiniArt. This edition brings decals for the machines of Free French airmen and the corresponding details of the D-28 version, including the propeller with cuffs and clear glazing parts.
The Thunderbolt was among the most rugged single-engine fighters of the Second World War. The P-47D-28RE version had a bubble canopy and a powerful radial engine with a turbocharger. Besides American squadrons, Thunderbolts also flew with Allied air forces; Free French units deployed them in the fighter-bomber role, usually in an olive green and gray camouflage.
Finish and paint the cockpit interior before closing the fuselage. Mask the bubble canopy. Spray the large areas with an airbrush; apply a gloss clear coat under the decals so that the markings settle smoothly. Fit the drop tanks, bombs and rockets only at the end of the build and mind the correct shape of the propeller with cuffs for this version.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
