Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the legendary American fighter in 1:48 scale from the maker Meng, this time in an edition devoted to the machines of the Eighth Air Force of the USAAF operating from British bases. The designation D/K refers to both of the late production versions of the Mustang, which differed from each other above all in the propeller used.
Once its airframe was joined to the Packard V-1650 engine, a license-built Rolls-Royce Merlin, the P-51 Mustang became the most capable Allied escort fighter. The P-51D version was given a bubble canopy with an excellent view and an armament of six 12.7 mm machine guns; the K version differed in its Aeroproducts propeller. With drop tanks, from the spring of 1944 the Mustangs escorted formations of heavy bombers deep over Germany and contributed fundamentally to winning air superiority over Europe.
Finish the cockpit completely and pick it out with a dry brush before you glue the fuselage halves together. The machines of the Eighth Air Force often flew in natural metal - and that calls for a perfectly smooth, glossy surface underneath and metallic paints applied last, in thin layers. Apply gloss varnish before the decals to prevent silvering, and bring the panel lines to life with a fine dark wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
