The British GR.1 version was a strike machine with a variable-geometry wing and it carried almost all of its armament under the fuselage, because the swiveling halves of the wing did not offer much room for pylons. That is exactly why the pylons on the center fuselage are so conspicuous on a model: they sit in the line of sight and their shape decides whether the stores hang at the right spacing and angle.
The designation corrected parts says that the set replaces components from an ordinary kit whose shape does not match reality. The castings have sharper edges, thinner walls and a finer taper than an injection mold allows, and the mounting surface tends to be worked out so that the part sits on the fuselage without shimming.
The castings are separated from the casting block with a saw or a cutting disc, never by snapping them off. The parting face is leveled with a file and the surface is degreased before gluing, because mold release residue tends to be left on it. Super glue or a two-part resin holds reliably, whereas ordinary cement for polystyrene does not work here at all.
Before gluing, it pays to offer the part up dry and mark the position with a pencil. Super glue gives no time for correction, and a pylon seated even slightly off to one side shows at once on a finished model, because its axis has to be parallel with the longitudinal axis of the fuselage.
Before spraying, it is advisable to lay down a thin base coat, otherwise the paint anchors badly on the smooth surface. Dry sanding creates a fine dust that does not belong in the lungs; work with extraction or sand under water. A model of the aircraft itself is not included in the package.
