1:48 Republic F-105D Thunderchief access ladder is a resin boarding ladder for a model of the American fighter-bomber. It is a small accessory for a parked aircraft and a diorama, not a kit of the aircraft.

The accessory represents the boarding ladder to the cockpit of the Republic F-105D fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale. The name of the item states one piece. A ladder belongs to the equipment that turns a model on its gear into a scene: an aircraft with an open canopy and a ladder put up looks alive and offers a natural place for a figure of a pilot or of a ground crewman. A resin casting handles the thin rungs and the frame that would have to be made much heavier in injected plastic.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief is an American single-seat supersonic fighter-bomber of the 1950s, designed for fast strike flight at low altitude. The D version is the most widespread single-seat form. The aircraft was among the largest single-engined combat machines of its day, with an internal weapons bay and swept air intakes in the wing roots. The cockpit sits high above the ground, so access to it was arranged with a ladder put up against it or folded out of it.
First wash the resin part in lukewarm water with dish soap so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting block away with a fine saw and sand the face carefully; with the thin rungs work in small steps so that they do not snap. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand wet and with respiratory protection. After primer lay the base shade down, add light chipping on the edges of the rungs and a fine wash into the frame, because a ladder is exactly what tends to be visibly worn on a real aircraft.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the aircraft kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
