The plastic kit MiniArt P-47D-20RA Thunderbolt, Saipan 1944 (Advanced Kit) in 1:48 scale. The American fighter-bomber of the Second World War in its richest specification.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from the Ukrainian maker MiniArt captures the American fighter Republic P-47D-20RA Thunderbolt as committed on the island of Saipan in 1944. It is the Advanced Kit version, that is the richest specification: besides the plastic parts it contains photo-etched parts, a full engine, clear parts and weighted wheels. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and offers several marking options.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a massive American single-seat fighter and attack aircraft of the Second World War, one of the largest and heaviest single-engine fighters of its day. It was powered by a powerful radial engine and carried eight heavy machine guns. The D-20RA version was built at Evansville, and aircraft of this series operated from the Marianas after the capture of Saipan in support of Allied operations in the Pacific.
An Advanced Kit with a full engine and photo-etch is a more demanding assembly - it pays to finish and paint the engine and the interior before closing the fuselage. Bond the photo-etched parts with super glue and the plastic with liquid cement. The weighted wheels will sit on the surface realistically. Apply a gloss clear coat before the decals and even the finish out with a flat one at the end, and the panel lines and the riveting will come out naturally.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
