Eduard Big Ed, Spitfire Mk.IXe 1:48 is a combined package of photo-etched parts and masking templates from the Czech maker Eduard that raises the detail of the plastic kit of this famous fighter considerably.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of the aircraft in its own right but a set of accessories from the Czech maker Eduard. The Big Ed range brings several photo-etched sets and masking templates together into one package made for the plastic kit of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXe in 1:48 scale. The aim is to raise the realism of the cockpit and of the fine airframe detail and to make exact masking easier when spraying.
The Spitfire Mk.IX was among the most important versions of the legendary British fighter. The variant with the so-called E wing carried a mixed armament of cannon and heavy machine guns and, with the Rolls-Royce Merlin 66 engine, came into its own in the second half of the war. It served with the Royal Air Force and with Allied squadrons on the Western Front and in the Mediterranean.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The color etched elements are printed and need no further paint. The pre-cut self-adhesive masks speed up masking the canopy and the transitions between color fields. We recommend working with tweezers and using a photo-etch bending tool for the bends.
This is an accessory set. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
