A detail resin cockpit set from the Czech maker CMK for a model of the British fighter Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIV in the version with a bubble canopy in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory that takes the place of all the plastic parts of the cockpit interior. Besides the resin parts, the package also holds photo-etched metal for the finest details. The set is designed for the Airfix kit.
The Spitfire Mk.XIV was a powerful variant of the legendary British fighter, powered by the twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce Griffon. The late machines received a lowered fuselage spine and a bubble canopy, which markedly improved the pilot's view out. The version saw use at the end of the Second World War.
Wash the release agent off the resin parts, cut away the casting blocks and glue them with super glue; bend the photo-etched parts and glue them likewise with super glue or with glue for photo-etch. Paint and assemble the interior completely before the fuselage is closed up; bring out the detail with a wash. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
