This product is an aftermarket accessory, not an aircraft kit. The set contains resin landing gear wheels for models of the Soviet Su-17 ground-attack aircraft with its variable-geometry wing, in 1:48 scale. The wheels have a finely drawn tread and hub and are usually made with a hint of load, so that once fitted they settle on the surface more realistically than the hard plastic wheels from the box.
The Su-17 was a Soviet single-seat ground-attack aircraft with variable-geometry outer wing panels, derived from the Su-7. In its day it served as the standard machine for attacks on ground targets and, in various versions and export variants, it was widespread in many armed forces. Its rugged landing gear carried wheels with a pronounced pattern, which this set sharpens.
Separate the wheels from the casting blocks, wash them free of mold release residue and clean them up. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). With loaded wheels, take care that the flat contact patch faces the ground. Sand with respiratory protection; when painting, masking the join between tire and hub helps.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
