The Sukhoi Su-30SM is a two-seat multirole combat aircraft derived from the Su-27 family. The crew sit in tandem, the pilot in front and the systems operator behind. The aircraft is twin-engined and carries canards at the wing root, which give it its characteristic outline. In NATO designation the machines of this family are listed as Flanker, and the Su-30SM version carries the suffix Flanker-H.
The model in 1:48 scale comes as a set of parts to be assembled and painted. The number of parts, the contents of the decal sheet and the choice of color versions are given in the instructions enclosed in the box. The Su-30 comes out large at this scale, so allow for that both when choosing a place in the display case and when handling it during the build.
