Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British carrier piston fighter Supermarine Seafang F.Mk.32 in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the late definitive naval version Mk.32 with a set of contra-rotating propellers, finely engraved panel lines and clear cockpit parts; it also contains photo-etched parts for the fine details. Check the exact package contents against the enclosed instructions.
The Seafang was a British carrier piston fighter that closed the long development line following on from the Spitfire and its naval offshoot the Seafire. It was created as the naval counterpart of the land-based Spiteful with its laminar-flow wing; the definitive Mk.32 version received an arrestor hook for landing on an aircraft carrier, folding outer wing panels and the powerful Rolls-Royce Griffon engine with contra-rotating propellers, which canceled out the torque. The arrival of jet aircraft meant that the Seafang never entered wide service.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched and clear parts with cyanoacrylate. Paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage; the canopy can be built open and protected with a mask. Pay attention to the assembly of the contra-rotating propellers. A primer and an airbrush are recommended; the typical glossy naval finishes come out well on a smoothed surface, and the panel lines are best brought out with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
