The SUU-23 is an American external pod with a rotary cannon of 20 mm caliber, which supplemented the firepower of aircraft without a permanently built-in cannon. We typically meet it on machines of the F-4 Phantom family used during the Cold War and in the era of the Vietnam War, when the need for a gun weapon for close combat showed itself.
