The set brings tools scaled down to 1:48, in other words elements meant to be placed on a model or in the scene around it. These are not tools for the modeler but small additions that on a diorama read as the equipment of a workshop, a farm or a military vehicle. It is exactly such small things that make the difference between a neatly built model and a scene that looks lived in.
Scaled-down tools come into their own on the fenders and sides of vehicles, at a bench in a workshop scene, leaning against the wall of a building or lying in the grass beside figures. It pays to place them sparingly and above all logically: what is in use lies to hand, what is not in use hangs in its place. The exact contents of the set and the number of pieces are given on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are small, so have tweezers ready and work over a surface from which a dropped piece can be retrieved. Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the rest. Wash and degrease the elements before painting. It is better to paint them separately before gluing, otherwise you will struggle to reach them with a brush. After the base shade a dark wash into the recesses and a light lifting of the edges with a dry brush help the small shapes stand out even in a photograph. The recommended sequence is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
