This is a resin detail set, not an aircraft kit. It contains replacement landing gear wheels for a plastic model of the British TSR-2 aircraft in 1:48 scale. A resin casting offers crisper detail of the hubs, the rims and the tire tread than production parts do, and gives a model more realistic running gear.
The BAC TSR-2 was a British twin-engined supersonic aircraft of the nineteen sixties intended for low-level strike and reconnaissance flight. Its robust landing gear had to withstand operation from unpaved surfaces as well. The program was canceled in 1965 and the aircraft never reached squadron service.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts and cut off the casting blocks. The tires can be sensitively weighted by sanding the contact face lightly, so that a wheel gives the impression of carrying the weight of the machine. Paint the rims and the tires separately and bring the tread out with a dry brush or a light wash.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit in its own right. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
