Plastic kit of the X-47B unmanned carrier-based aircraft of the US Navy in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The X-47B is an unmanned machine built to test the operation of unmanned aircraft from the deck of an aircraft carrier. Its shape is unlike anything that stands beside it in the display case: it is a tailless flying wing with no cockpit, with folding wingtips and a smooth surface with few protrusions. That is exactly why the model looks striking even without a colorful finish and tends to be a rewarding counterpoint to the classic fighters in a collection.
In 1:48 scale the span of the assembled model works out at just under forty centimeters, so the model takes up more room in the display case across than along. The smooth upper surface puts the emphasis on the joints: fill the seams between the wing halves and sand them down, because on a continuous surface every unevenness shows. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, separate the parts with sprue cutters and sand the marks down before gluing. The color scheme of this machine is restrained, so the result hinges on an even coat and clean work on the transitions, not on the number of shades.
It suits collectors of modern aircraft and anyone who wants a machine with an unusual silhouette in the display case. The build does not rest on a mass of small parts but on a clean surface and an even coat.
Paints, glue, filler and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The manufacturer's packaging states the contents of the package.
