This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter captures the US Navy F9F-3 Panther carrier jet fighter. The model offers finely engraved panel lines and a detailed cockpit, and the box usually holds a photo-etched part and a film instrument panel.
The Panther was Grumman's first jet fighter and one of the first jet aircraft of the US Navy. The F9F-3 version was powered by the Allison J33 engine as insurance against the possible failure of another powerplant, and only a small number were built. Panthers made their mark in the Korean War.
Glue with liquid cement for plastic and attach the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The dark blue naval finish typical of the Panther comes into its own over a smooth base with a gentle panel accent. The film instrument panel makes a realistic cockpit easy.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
