This is NOT a kit but a detail accessory. It is a turned brass pitot tube of bent, L shape form in 1:48 scale, supplied as 1 piece. The metal rendering faithfully captures the bent shape of the probe, which is hard to mold in plastic and breaks easily.
A pitot tube senses the dynamic pressure of the air for measuring airspeed. The bent type in the shape of the letter L appeared on a range of American military aircraft of the Second World War, usually under the wing or on its leading edge.
Cut the original plastic part off, clean the hole up and set the metal tube in place with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the part before gluing. The brass can be left bare or painted.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
