A plastic kit of the American M4 Sherman medium tank with the 75 mm gun in 1:56 scale by Italeri. The scale matches the figures of tabletop wargames.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M4 Sherman is an American medium tank of the Second World War and one of the most widespread armored vehicles of its day. This version carries a 75 millimeter gun in a rotating turret, backed up by machine gun armament. The Sherman was not the most heavily armored machine on the battlefield, but it stood out for its reliability, its ease of repair and the numbers in which it was built. It served with American and Allied units on practically every front.
This is a plastic kit in 1:56 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, the parts are on sprues and the box holds instructions and a decal sheet. The 1:56 scale is an established size for tabletop wargames, where it matches figures about twenty-eight millimeters tall. The finished tank therefore sits next to such figures at exactly the right size and looks neither oversized nor small.
Cut the parts off the sprue with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand down the stub. Fit the tracks and the road wheels before you start painting, but apply the paint before you add the small fittings to the hull, otherwise you will not reach the hidden places with a brush. For gaming it is practical to cover the painted model with a protective varnish, because it will be handled often. Apply dust and traces of mud from the bottom upward, that is the way they would build up on the real machine.
The set suits a tabletop wargamer and a modeler who builds smaller dioramas alike. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
