The set from MASTER contains 9 turned brass barrels for the Japanese naval gun of 46 cm caliber, Type 94 (barrel length 45 calibers), in 1:700 scale. This was the main artillery armament of the giant battleships Yamato and Musashi. The metal barrels replace the plastic parts and give the model perfectly straight barrels. It is a detail accessory, not a ship model.
The Type 94 gun of 46 cm caliber was the largest naval gun ever committed to battle. Nine of these guns were placed in three triple turrets on the battleships Yamato and Musashi, the heaviest battleships in history. Their enormous caliber stood for the high point of the era of the big-gun battleship.
Separate the barrels from the casting block, clean them up and glue them on with cyanoacrylate. Degrease the brass before painting and apply a primer, then put the paint on with an airbrush. Straight metal barrels markedly improve the look of the massive turrets.
This is a metal detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
