About product

Set of 9 turned 460 mm gun barrels (Aber, 1:700)

This accessory is not a kit but a set of nine precisely turned metal barrels from the Polish maker Aber for models of the Japanese battleships Yamato and Musashi in 1:700 scale. The metal barrels replace the plastic moldings of the 460 mm barrels.

What it is for

Nine 460 mm guns in three triple turrets made up the main armament of the largest battleships in history. Turned metal barrels give a model an accurate geometry, a perfectly circular section and a realistic weight, and they do away with the parting seams left by plastic.

Use

  • Cut off the plastic barrels according to the instructions of the base model.
  • Glue the metal parts on with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
  • Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer.

Who it is for

  • Builders of Japanese battleships in 1:700.
  • Modelers who insist on accuracy of the main armament.
  • More experienced modelers used to small metal parts.

This is a detail accessory. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
