Injection-molded plastic kit of the American aircraft carrier USS Hancock (CV-19) of the Essex class in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. Hancock belonged to the long-hull variant of the Essex class. The split hull allows a build with a full hull as well as a waterline one; a display stand is part of the box. The exact contents and the parts count are not stated here.
USS Hancock was an Essex class fleet aircraft carrier, completed in 1944 as one of the long-hull ships. She joined the closing operations in the Pacific, among them the liberation of the Philippines, and carried a large air group. Trumpeter depicts the ship in her 1944 form.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid cement for plastic; the small parts in 1:700 call for care and fine photo-etched railings go with them well (they can be bought separately). Decide in advance between the full hull and the waterline version. Lay down a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush; render the deck in the matching scheme and pick the lines out with a wash.
