The set contains two external fuel tanks of 1200 liters in the version used on the Jaguars of the British RAF. The parts are made by 3D printing from modeling resin, so they carry finer and sharper detail on the surface, the panel lines and the mounting features than injection-molded plastic usually offers. It is not an airplane kit: it is an accessory (an upgrade set) meant to be fitted to a finished Jaguar model in 1:72 scale.

What it is for

Drop tanks were part of the typical load of the Jaguar both on transfers and on combat missions with a longer range. Swapping the plastic parts from the kit for resin tanks gives the model a more faithful shape and finer detail on the store, and it looks more realistic above all close up or in photographs. The set suits British versions of the Jaguar; for the French version Reskit offers a separate set with tanks of a different design.

Working with resin parts

• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before building to remove print resin residue, otherwise the paint will not hold.
• Cut the print supports off with a saw or a sharp knife; do not snap them off.
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or epoxy; ordinary plastic cement does not work on resin.
• Wear a respirator when sanding and sand wet; resin dust is harmful to health.
• Lay down a primer before painting and the surface will hold the paint more reliably.
