The injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa in 1:72 scale captures the American ground-attack aircraft Douglas A-1H Skyraider in the markings of the naval squadron VA-25. The boxing commemorates the machine known for shooting an opposing fighter down. According to the manufacturer the package also contains external stores (rocket pods and bombs) and decals for the given color scheme.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was a single-engine piston-powered ground-attack and attack aircraft with a large capacity for external stores and long endurance. Although it came about at the close of the Second World War, it made its name mainly in later conflicts. The A-1H version served with the US Navy; on 20 June 1965 the crew of a machine of squadron VA-25 shot a MiG-17 jet fighter down, which is an extraordinary success for a slow piston aircraft and gave the boxing its nickname.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and apply a primer before painting. An airbrush suits even shades. Pay attention to the assembly and the arrangement of the external stores and to applying the decals cleanly onto a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
