The injection-molded plastic kit Douglas A-20G Havoc Over Europe and Pacific in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby - the American attack aircraft with decals for the European and the Pacific theaters.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American twin-engine attack aircraft Douglas A-20G Havoc in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby. The box contains the parts of the A-20G laid out over several sprues of gray plastic and a sprue of clear parts. The decal choice under the name Over Europe and Pacific covers aircraft committed in the European as well as the Pacific theater, including units of the USAAF and of the Royal Australian Air Force.
The Douglas A-20 Havoc was a versatile American twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. It served not only with the US Army Air Forces but also with a number of allies including the Soviet Union, Great Britain and Australia. The A-20G version was the most heavily armed production variant - instead of a glazed nose it received a solid attack nose fitted with a battery of fixed machine guns (cannons in later series) for forward fire in low-level attacks on ground targets and ships.
As with short-run kits we recommend separating and cleaning the parts up carefully, checking the fit by dry assembly and gluing with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting; spray large areas with an airbrush. Mask the glazing. Washes and a subtle grading of the shades come out especially well on the undersides and the engine nacelles.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
