An injection-molded plastic kit of the Czechoslovak multipurpose biplane Aero A-101 in 1:72 scale from RS Models. The A-101 was the basic observation and light bombing variant of this family, used above all in the reconnaissance and cooperation role. It is a short-run kit supplemented with photo-etched parts and a decal sheet; among the markings there tend to be Czechoslovak aircraft as well as machines used in the Spanish Civil War.
The Aero A-101 was a Czechoslovak biplane of mixed construction developed from the earlier Aero A-100. It served mainly as a reconnaissance and observation aircraft with the ability to carry a light bomb load and reached the Czechoslovak Air Force in the middle of the 1930s. Some of the aircraft were sold to Spain, where both warring sides used them during the civil war. As a classic biplane the A-101 has the typical arrangement of struts and bracing wires between the wings.
It is a short-run kit, so expect more careful fitting and cleaning up of the parts. Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Plan the sequence for assembling the wings and the struts in advance and tension the bracing wires only after painting, ideally with stretched elastic thread or stretched sprue. Apply a primer before painting and put the colors on with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
