Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet four-engine turboprop aircraft Antonov An-12BK-PPS in 1:72 scale from Roden. It is a large model of a transport aircraft in its special electronic warfare guise. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact package contents and the number of paint schemes, follow the enclosed instructions.
The An-12, NATO reporting name Cub, was a Soviet military transport aircraft, the counterpart of the Western C-130 Hercules. The An-12BK-PPS variant was created by conversion for jamming hostile radars and air defenses, so it carried additional characteristic fairings, bulges and antennas with jamming transmitters. These machines served with the Soviet Air Force until the end of the 1980s, mostly along the borders of the USSR of the day.
On a large model, first glue and align the fuselage halves and the engine nacelles carefully so that no visible gaps appear. Mask the cockpit glazing and the observation blisters before spraying. A base over a primer and spraying with an airbrush work well; metal surfaces come out best with metallic shades, which need thorough stirring and should be applied only at the end. Fit the small antennas and jamming fairings last so that they are not damaged in handling.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
