Plastic kit of the Analog MiG A-144-2 in 1:72 scale from Modelsvit - the experimental aircraft with an ogival delta wing for the Tu-144 program.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the experimental aircraft Analog MiG A-144-2 in 1:72 scale from Modelsvit. The model captures the second prototype with its striking ogival delta wing, finely engraved lines, a detailed cockpit and clear parts for the canopy. It is a short-run mold intended rather for more experienced builders.
The aircraft was a flying testbed derived from the airframe of the MiG-21. Its main task was to verify the shape and the behavior of the new ogival delta wing that was being prepared for the Tupolev Tu-144 supersonic airliner. Two prototypes were built; the second of them, the A-144-2, was used for flight testing and is today part of a museum collection. Thanks to its wing it was a small copy of the future supersonic airliner.
With a short-run mold, clean up the mating surfaces and remove any flash; glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage and mask the glazing. Paint the large-area delta wing with an airbrush after a coat of primer, and a fine panel wash will bring out the engraved lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
