This set is not an aircraft model but a set of masking templates in 1:72 scale from Omask. The precisely cut self-adhesive masks make painting and finishing a model of the postwar fighter Avia S-199 and of its two-seat trainer form CS-199 easier, above all on the fabric-covered areas. The masks ensure sharp transitions and clean coverage with no laborious cutting out. The set is conceived for the matching kit in this scale.
The Avia S-199 was a Czechoslovak postwar fighter that combined the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 with a different engine, originally from a bomber. Because it was demanding to fly it earned the nickname Mezek, meaning mule. The two-seat CS-199 variant served for pilot training and had a lengthened cockpit for the instructor.
Lift the masks off carefully, place them on a clean, degreased surface and press them down so the edges adhere perfectly and paint cannot bleed. Spray in thin coats and remove the mask while the finish is still slightly pliable. Work with tweezers and a sharp knife for fine adjustment.
This is a masking accessory, not a standalone model. The package does not contain the kit, paints or glue, unless stated otherwise.
