A limited injection-molded plastic kit of the postwar Czechoslovak fighter Avia S-99 / C-10 in 1:72 scale from Eduard. The Limited Edition contains Eduard plastic sprues, pre-colored photo-etched parts, a painting mask and decals for four color schemes.
The Avia S-99 was a postwar Czechoslovak fighter assembled from the parts and technology of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G (the G-10 and G-14 variants) with a powerful liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine. The factory designation at Avia was C-10, while in the service of the Czechoslovak Air Force the machine carried the designation S-99. It was the version with the original DB 605 engine, unlike the later S-199 Mezek, which received a substitute Junkers Jumo powerplant because of a shortage of engines. The wing bulges for the wider main landing gear wheels are characteristic.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid plastic cement. The pre-colored photo-etched cockpit parts speed the build up and are fixed with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply primer before painting, spray the camouflage with an airbrush in thin coats and mask the canopy glazing with the enclosed mask. Pick out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
