A resin detail set in 1:72 scale from MH models representing the Le Rhône 9J rotary engine for models of the British Avro 504K/L trainer and observation biplane. It is not an aircraft kit but a faithful replacement for the engine that refines the front end of the model. The mating surfaces match the front end of the Kovozavody Prostejov kit.
The Avro 504 was among the longest-used aircraft of the First World War, widely employed as a trainer. The Le Rhône 9J was a nine-cylinder rotary engine with characteristic external intake tubes; the whole cylinder block turned with the propeller. On this type the exposed engine is a prominent feature to look at.
The finely cast resin parts faithfully capture the cylinders and the details of the Le Rhône 9J rotary engine. They are meant to be cut from the casting blocks, cleaned up and assembled into the engine bay of the model.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut the casting blocks away and sand the faces with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting a primer for resin is recommended; the engine comes out best with a combination of metallic shades and a fine wash.
This is a resin detail set of an engine, not an aircraft model. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
