Big Guns on the Move — Italy 1944 (Mirage Hobby, 1:72) is a diorama set combining the American M33 tractor with the heavy M1 howitzer and figures, rather than one standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This diorama set from Mirage Hobby in 1:72 scale is not just one model; it is a combination for creating a scene from the Italian front of 1944. It brings together the American M33 Prime Mover tracked artillery tractor with the heavy 240 mm M1 howitzer and crew figures.
The 240 mm M1 howitzer was the largest American field gun of the Second World War. Because of its weight it was transported in sections, and the M33 tracked tractor (derived from the chassis of American medium tanks) was what towed it. This combination became known among other places on the Italian front in 1944, for example in the area of Anzio.
First assemble the running gear of the tractor and the carriage of the gun, and only then close up the superstructures. For a convincing field appearance, washes and pigments for mud and dust effects work well. How you place the vehicles and the figures determines the final composition of the diorama.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
