The set brings two pieces of the American incendiary (napalm) bomb BLU-27A/B of the 750 pound weight class. It offers both forms used at the time: finned, with the MXU-469/B stabilizing tail unit, and unfinned, the smooth bomb with no tail fins. It is a resin, 3D printed accessory for experienced modelers; it is neither an airplane model nor an aircraft kit but armament for completing a finished model.
The BLU-27 was among the characteristic incendiary weapons of American tactical air support in Vietnam. The thin-walled casing with its thickened incendiary filling was released from low altitude and created a large field of fire on impact. The smooth variant with no tail fins was typical of low-altitude releases, where there was no need to stabilize a long fall. The MXU-469/B tail kit, by contrast, improved the behavior of the bomb after release and widened the usable speeds and altitudes. That is exactly why both forms appear side by side in period photographs.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, cut the 3D print supports off with a sharp cutter, sand the surface and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Use respiratory protection while sanding, and ideally sand wet. Apply a primer before painting.
