An injection-molded plastic kit of the Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jet airliner in the American Eagle livery, in 1:72 scale from Big Planes Kits. The CRJ-900 is a stretched version of the smaller CRJ-700 — it has a longer fuselage and a higher capacity. The short-run kit is supplemented with photo-etched and resin parts and contains a clear part and decals. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The CRJ-900 is a regional jet airliner from the Canadian company Bombardier, from the Canadair Regional Jet family. Compared with the CRJ-700 it has a stretched fuselage for around ninety passengers and it remains powered by a pair of jet engines on the sides of the rear fuselage. It was a widespread workhorse of regional routes in North America, among others under the American Eagle brand.
With short-run tooling, expect more accurate fitting, sanding of the mold seams and possible filling of the joints. Glue the photo-etched and resin parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The long smooth fuselage of an airliner comes out best with a good primer and airbrush spraying; protect the windows and the clear parts with masks. A gloss white base under the decals makes a clean transition of the livery easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
