A cut self-adhesive masking set for the export version of the American carrier-based fighter Brewster Buffalo 339-23 in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Peewit. It is not an airplane model but a set of precisely cut masks in fine masking tape, which make a clean coat on the frames of the cockpit canopy and other surfaces easier, with no laborious cutting of tape by hand.
The Brewster Buffalo was an American fighter of the end of the 1930s with a characteristic stout, barrel-like fuselage and a radial engine. The export variant 339-23 was ordered for the Dutch colonial administration in the Dutch East Indies and was powered by a Wright Cyclone radial engine. Because of the fall of Java, some of these machines were diverted to Australia and used by the Royal Australian Air Force. The rounded cockpit canopy with its several frames is one of the places where accurate masks save time.
Transfer the masks onto a perfectly clean, degreased surface, seat them precisely and press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or a burnisher so that paint cannot seep under them. Spray the interior shade of the framing first, then, once it is dry, the exterior color, and lift the masks before the paint has hardened completely. Any adhesive residue can be removed by moistening it gently.
The set contains self-adhesive masks; it is not a model and not a kit. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
