Carrier Deck Section 1:72: a section of an aircraft carrier flight deck from Italeri; a diorama base for a carrier aircraft model, not a model of a ship or an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Carrier Deck Section is a piece of the flight deck of a modern aircraft carrier in 1:72 scale from Italeri. Note: it is not a model of an aircraft or a ship. It is a base, a setting, a diorama groundwork on which you place your own carrier aircraft model. The package consists of a large one-piece deck segment and several sprues with accessories.
An aircraft model on a bare table looks as if it is hanging in mid-air. Put it on a piece of real deck, with its guide lines, tie-down points and the texture of the walking surface, and it gains context and immediately looks as if it were aboard ship. The section also includes a Jet Blast Deflector, which on the real deck is raised by hydraulic rams and protects the deck from the exhaust blast during a launch.
Spray the deck with an airbrush in shades of gray and add the guide lines and markings with decals or a mask. The look of a well-used deck comes from dark washes into the seams, drybrushing on the edges and fine pigments (tire marks, oil, salt). Darken and roughen the non-skid areas for a realistic surface.
This is a diorama base, not a model of an aircraft or a ship. The aircraft model, figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
