Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Boeing Vertol CH-46D Sea Knight transport helicopter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The kit is molded in gray plastic on several sprues and supplemented with clear parts for the glazing. The Sea Knight is a twin-turbine helicopter with a tandem arrangement of two rotors, so this model too has no tail rotor. It is a rewarding kit of a mid-sized Marine Corps and Navy machine with a sensible number of parts.
The Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight is an American medium transport helicopter with a tandem arrangement of two contra-rotating rotors. It first flew in 1962 and became the backbone of the vertical lift of the US Marine Corps, carrying troops and cargo from the decks of ships to the shore. The CH-46D version received more powerful engines. Cargo was loaded through the rear ramp; folding rotor blades saved space on deck.
Finish the cockpit and the cargo hold before closing the fuselage, especially if you plan an open rear ramp. Use liquid cement on the plastic, mask the glazing and glue it with an adhesive for clear parts. Apply primer before painting; the typical green or gray Marine Corps scheme suits an airbrush. Fit both tandem rotors symmetrically, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add dust pigments to the underside of the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
