1:72 Churchill Mk.III "King Force" El Alamein 1942

The real subject

The Churchill was a British infantry tank, that is, a machine built for heavy armor and for accompanying infantry rather than for speed. It was precisely this specification that set British infantry tanks apart from cruiser tanks, on which mobility was given priority. You recognize the Churchill at first glance by the high outline of the tracks led around the whole hull and by the side covers. The Mk.III version differs from the older forms in its welded turret with a 57 mm gun, which was appreciably more effective than the earlier armament.

The form and the markings

The item is listed with a reference to the King Force designation and to El Alamein in 1942, that is, to the North African theater. Markings of this kind are the main thing by which individual forms of the same type differ on scale models; desert camouflage and tactical emblems give a model a specific place instead of a generic look for the type.

1:72 scale

For military equipment 1:72 is the most economical of the widespread scales. The model takes up little room in a display case, so a whole group of vehicles can be placed side by side in it, and the detail is still easy to read. A collection in one scale has the advantage that the vehicles keep their proportions relative to each other and differences in size are immediately apparent. The form of the delivery, that is, whether it is an assembled model or a model to be assembled, is not stated here, so check it before ordering against the part number 60592.

Care and terms of supply

Place the model out of direct sunlight, which does the paint and the markings no good, and remove dust from it with a soft brush rather than a cloth, which could break small parts off. Unless stated otherwise, paints, glue, a base and accessory sets are not part of the delivery.
