This is a 3D printed resin cockpit set in 1:72 scale, supplemented with photo-etched parts and intended for the two-seat training version of the Soko NJ-22 Orao attack aircraft. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for the more experienced modeler, which replaces the basic cockpit equipment with a more faithfully drawn tub, instrument panels, seats and levers.

The real subject

The Soko J-22 Orao is a Yugoslav, later Serbian subsonic attack and reconnaissance aircraft developed jointly with Romania. The NJ-22 version is the two-seat training variant with the cockpits in tandem.

Building tips

• Wash the parts free of uncured print resin residue and cut them off the 3D print supports.
• Bend the photo-etched parts over a sharp edge and glue them with superglue.
• Glue the resin with cyanoacrylate, and protect your breathing while sanding.
• Before painting, lay down a primer suitable for resin.
