Plastic kit of the Dassault Mirage 2000N with the ASMP missile in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Modelsvit — the French strike aircraft that carried a nuclear missile.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Dassault Mirage 2000N strike aircraft in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Modelsvit. The set is conceived as a richer edition: it contains plastic parts, a photo-etched fret, Cartograf decals for several schemes, painting masks and armament including the nuclear ASMP missile, drop tanks and air-to-air missiles. The exact contents of the package and the number of schemes are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
The Mirage 2000N was the two-seat strike version of the Mirage 2000 fighter, developed for the French Air Force as the carrier of the supersonic ASMP missile with a special warhead — that is for nuclear deterrence duties. The aircraft was optimized for flying through at low altitude at high speed and was introduced in the 1980s; it stayed in service until the end of the 2010s. Its recognition feature is precisely the large ASMP missile carried under the fuselage.
The photo-etched parts call for cyanoacrylate glue and a steady hand — dry-fit the etched parts first. Use thin liquid cement on the plastic joints. Apply a primer before painting; French low-visibility gray schemes show to advantage with an airbrush and fine differences of shade (post-shading). Protect the cockpit glazing with the masks from the package. Lay the Cartograf decals onto a gloss clear coat so that no silvering arises. Assemble and paint the underwing armament and the tanks separately and fit them only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
