An injection-molded plastic kit of the American North American F-100D Super Sabre supersonic fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The F-100D was the most widely built fighter-bomber version, with a broadened capability for attacking ground targets. The kit has finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit and separate flaps and slats on the wing. The box holds clear parts for the canopy glazing and a choice of stores. Check the exact contents of the box and the number of marking schemes against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The F-100 Super Sabre was the first American fighter able to sustain supersonic speed in level flight. It was powered by a strong afterburning turbojet and was marked by its swept wing and tail surfaces. The F-100D version was optimized for attacks on ground targets and carried a wide range of bombs, rockets and drop tanks. The type made its mark in US Air Force service and was deployed, among other places, over Southeast Asia.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Paint and shade the cockpit before closing the fuselage, and mask the clear glazing while spraying. Pay attention to the fit of the nose air intake and the seating of the separate flaps and slats. Apply primer and the paints with an airbrush; after a gloss coat apply the decals and bring the panel lines out with a wash. Finish the external stores and the tanks at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
