1:72 F-16 Fighting Falcon (F100-PW-229) - open exhaust nozzle (3D Printed) is a printed exhaust nozzle in the open position. The set is cut for the Revell kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A printed replacement for the engine exhaust nozzle for the model of the F-16 fighter in 1:72 scale, in the variant for the more powerful F100-PW-229 powerplant and with the petals in the open position. The set is cut for the Revell kit. The same nozzle is also released in a version for a different kit, and the engine designation alone would not tell them apart. It is an accessory for an existing kit, not an aircraft model.
The F100-PW-229 powerplant is a later and more powerful version of the same engine family that the earlier F-16 blocks were given. It was fitted to newer aircraft and differs from its predecessor in the external shape of the rear end and in the arrangement of the nozzle petals. For a modeler it is not an interchangeable part: choosing the nozzle for the wrong engine version means building an aircraft that never actually looked that way. The open position matches a parked aircraft.
The printed parts are held on thin print supports. Snip them off close to the part and level the surface with a file or a scalpel. They are bonded with super glue. Apply a primer before painting. Keep the inside of the nozzle lighter, tone the outer petals toward a darker burnt shade and bring out the edges with a dry brush.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
