A closed exhaust nozzle for the F-16 with the F110-GE-129 engine in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Reskit. A 3D printed set, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory set, not an aircraft model. It replaces the engine exhaust nozzle with a part whose petals are drawn in. The closed position matches an aircraft with the engine running, that is, the situation before takeoff, while taxiing or in flight. That is exactly why it suits a model built in flying attitude on a stand and a diorama in which the aircraft is starting up. The set is intended for the powerplant of the second of the two manufacturers that supplied engines for the F-16, because the shape and arrangement of the petals differ between units.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole combat aircraft. The exhaust nozzle changes its cross section according to the engine setting: at full thrust with the afterburner it opens, after shutdown it stays open, and in normal running it is drawn in. On a model the position of the nozzle is therefore part of what tells the viewer which situation you are capturing.
The set is for modelers of modern combat aircraft who are building an aircraft in flying attitude or a scene with an aircraft starting up. The work is not difficult, but it is preceded by a decision about the scene.
It is not an aircraft model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
