1:72 F-16 Fighting Falcon (F110-GE-129) - open exhaust nozzle (3D Printed) is a printed exhaust nozzle in the open position. The set is cut for the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A printed replacement for the engine exhaust nozzle on a model of the F-16 fighter in 1:72 scale, in the variant for the F110-GE-129 powerplant and with the petals in the open position. The set is cut for the Hasegawa kit. That matters because the same nozzle also comes out in a version for another kit, and the designation of the engine would not tell the two apart. It is an addition to an existing kit, not a model of the aircraft.
Some F-16 machines received a powerplant from an entirely different maker than the rest. The F110 series engine differs from the rival unit not only internally but also outwardly: the rear end of the fuselage has a different shape and the nozzle petals a different geometry and length. The difference is apparent even at normal viewing distance, so with a model it pays to find out which engine a particular machine had. The open position of the petals matches a parked aircraft.
The printed parts are held on thin supports. Snip them off close to the part and level the face with a file or a scalpel. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. Leave the inside of the nozzle lighter, tone the outer petals toward a darker, heat-stained shade and bring out the edges with a dry brush.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
