Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks for a model of the two-seat F-16 fighter in 1:72 scale. The masks are ready to apply, so there is no cutting of shapes out of tape by hand. The set is cut for the Hasegawa kit. That matters because the same masks also come out in a version for another kit, and the name of the type would not tell them apart. The set does not contain a model or paints.
The two-seat version of the F-16 has lengthened cockpit glazing so that two seats fit under it one behind the other. The canopy stays one-piece and without a windscreen frame, but it is longer and its rear part runs into a reshaped fuselage spine. It is precisely this difference that means masks for the single-seat version will not fit a two-seat machine. The machines are used for training as well as for combat tasks, and with some operators they are fully capable combat aircraft.
Lift the masks off the sheet with the point of a scalpel or with tweezers. Degrease the surface before applying them, or the tape will not hold. Press the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick so that no paint runs under them. Spray thin coats and take the mask off while the paint is dry to the touch. A cured coat breaks away when the mask comes off and tears the edge.
The set contains painting masks only. Paints and the model are not included in the package.
