The Reskit 1:72 pre-cut masking set for the F-4 version C Phantom II is an accessory for the Fine Molds kit, for spraying the intricate glazing cleanly.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains pre-cut masks for a model of the Phantom II in the C version from the Fine Molds kit in 1:72. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory used during painting. The shapes are cut in advance, so all you do is peel them off and transfer them to the model.
The Phantom has a two-seat cockpit with two separate hinged sections and a transverse frame between them, plus a windshield with a division of its own. In 1:72 the whole canopy is a couple of centimeters long and the individual frames are thinner than a millimeter, so cutting tape by hand practically always shows in a wavering width. A pre-cut mask solves this by having the width of the frame decided by the cut, not by the hand.
Degrease the glazing, lay the mask on with tweezers and press it down from the middle toward the edges. In a small scale it is especially important to spray thinly: a heavy coat visually widens a thin frame by half. Take the mask off with the tip of a scalpel and tweezers at an angle, while the paint is still fresh. If you are building the model with the cockpit open, paint the inner sides of the frames before you fit the canopy.
This is an accessory for a model, not the model itself. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
