1:72 F4U-1 Corsair exhaust is a resin set of exhausts for a model of the American Corsair carrier fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set of exhausts for a model of the American Corsair carrier fighter in the F4U-1 version, in 1:72. It is not a model of the aircraft but a replacement part. The exhaust stacks come out of the sides of the rear cowling, and in a small scale they are necessarily blind in plastic, because a mold cannot make a thin wall with an open mouth.
Cut the parts off the casting blocks with a fine saw and sand the cut surface. Wash the resin in lukewarm water with detergent before painting, because of the mold release residue. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). In 1:72 the parts are very small, so work with tweezers and over a light mat. The metallic look comes out by layering dark steel and brownish shades, and the exhaust traces should be drawn backwards in the direction of the airflow.
Fit the exhausts only after the cowling has had its base coat. Masking heat-stained metal against the surrounding color is considerably more laborious than fitting a finished part onto a painted area.
The set contains only the exhausts. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
