A plastic kit of the American carrier fighter F6F-5 Hellcat in 1:72 scale from the Hobby Boss Easy Assembly line. The set has a low part count and large assemblies, so it builds quickly and easily. The package contains a clear cockpit part and decals for two color schemes.
The F6F Hellcat was a sturdy carrier fighter of the US Navy which played a key role in the war in the Pacific. The F6F-5 version was the most widespread and performance-improved configuration with the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine. The aircraft excelled in its tough structure, its good armament and its favorable behavior when taking off from and landing on carrier decks.
Thanks to the large parts the build is undemanding; even so, clean the joints up and fill them. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic and apply primer before varnishing. The dark blue naval finish comes out best with an airbrush and subtle shading; the panel lines can be picked out with a thin removable shade.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
