An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Fairey Fulmar carrier fighter in 1:72 scale from Smer. It is an older, simpler mold with engraved panel lines and suggested fabric covering on the control surfaces; the package makes it possible to build the Mk.I or the Mk.II version and holds clear parts for the canopy glazing and waterslide decals for two markings.
The Fairey Fulmar was a British two-seat carrier fighter of the Fleet Air Arm of the early Second World War. It put the emphasis on range and on a second crew member, the navigator, so it was on the slower side but dependable and well armed with eight machine guns. Fulmars covered convoys above all in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and were among the most successful British carrier fighters of the early war.
With older molds reckon on possible flash on the parts and on cleaning up the parting lines. Use liquid cement for plastic, finish the cockpit before the fuselage is closed and fill the gaps as needed. Lay down a primer before painting and apply the paints with an airbrush; a superstructure of dark blue-gray and gray camouflage is typical of naval machines. Mask the glazing and fit it at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
