Sword 1:72 Fairey Gannet AEW.3 is an injection-molded kit of the carrier early warning aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm with photo-etched and resin details.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British carrier airborne early warning aircraft Fairey Gannet AEW.3 in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Sword. It is a short-run kit supplemented by color photo-etched parts, a set of resin details and clear parts. The decal sheet offers markings for two versions of the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy.
The Fairey Gannet AEW.3 came about as a specialized version for airborne early warning, easily recognized by its massive ventral radome. It flew from the decks of British aircraft carriers and filled the role of patrol and radar surveillance until the end of the nineteen-seventies. It was powered by a turboprop engine, and the machine was among the characteristic types of postwar British naval aviation.
As with short-run kits, dry fitting the parts and cleaning the mating faces up sensitively pay off. Glue the photo-etched and resin parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic with classic modeling cement. Apply a gloss varnish before the decals, and once the build is finished, unify the surface with a matte or satin varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
