Kit of the large British flying boat of the First World War in 1:72 scale. It is an extensive injection-molded plastic model from Roden with a high parts count. The box holds plastic parts on sprues, clear parts, a decal sheet and assembly instructions.
The Felixstowe F.2A was a biplane flying boat powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Eagle V12 engines, built for long-range patrols over the North Sea, submarine hunting and combat with enemy airships and seaplanes. Its two-step boat hull gave it good handling on the water. It was one of the most successful British naval aircraft of its day, built in the hundreds.
This is a large and complex model that an advanced builder will appreciate. Paint and detail the interior of the boat hull and the cockpit before closing them up. Glue the interplane struts and the engine nacelles carefully with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and check the alignment; once the model is assembled, add the extensive bracing wires. Spray the large fabric surfaces with an airbrush and apply the decals over a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
