The smallest format of the whole range measures 180 x 214 mm and weighs 130 g. The material remains acrylic glass 3 mm thick; only the area is matched to a single smaller machine. The base draws on the setting of Finnish wartime airfields.
That is the term for a protected stand for an aircraft, surrounded by an earth bank or a wooden wall. The Finns dispersed their machines around the edges of airfields into the forest in exactly this way, so that one air raid would not destroy a whole unit. The surface of such a stand tended to be packed earth, gravel or a grating of logs rather than a concrete runway, which is a far more rewarding motif for a model scene.
The size is cut for the small single-engined types the Finnish Air Force operated, that is the Brewster Model 239, the Fokker D.XXI, the Curtiss Hawk 75 or the Messerschmitt Bf 109G. The smaller area also suits anyone who wants to unify several machines at once. Remove any greasy prints from the edges before you put the board away in a display case. A weight of a mere 130 g will not burden even a thin glass shelf.
You fit the stand itself with a model as you see fit; that one is not included.
